Millennium Hotel (New York, NY)

A five-star hotel located in mid-town Manhattan, the Millennium Hotel is one of the finest in the New York City area for business travelers and vacationers alike. The installation featured six Fujitec gearless, four Royal Superdyne models, two hydraulic elevators and a sidewalk lift.

The Shops at North Bridge (Chicago, IL)

Located on downtown Chicago’s famous Michigan Avenue, The Shops at North Bridge include sloping walkways, a variety of upscale stores, specialty shops and restaurants, as well as a unique high end food court.

Fujitec’s Chicago office was awarded the contract from Macerich for this project, which includes the award of Macerich’s entire Chicago portfolio which consists of 17 elevators and 12 escalators.  Fujitec has maintained the five Fujitec elevators that were installed in the downtown Chicago mall since they were installed in 2000.

900 North Michigan Avenue (Chicago, IL)

The limestone, marble and granite 900 North Michigan Building rises 69 stories above downtown Chicago's most well-known shopping area; the Magnificent Mile. This multi-purpose complex contains a Bloomingdale's Department Store and 100 retail shops, a Four Seasons luxury hotel, prestige office space and luxury condominiums.

Fujitec has installed a total of 45 elevators and 14 escalators, utilizing its state-of-the-art control systems. The dependable array of geared, gearless and hydraulic elevators, some reaching speeds of up to 1,400 ft/min (420 mpm), has most certainly added to the identity and appeal of the building.

The owner is JMB Properties Urban Co., the developer is JMB/Urban Development Co., the architect is Kohn Pedersen Fox Associates/Perkins & Will, Chicago, and the contractor is J.A. Jones Construction Co.

Lazarus Redevelopment Project (Columbus, OH)

Fujitec has partnered with Turner Construction for the installation of ten AC geared elevators in the historic Lazarus building in Downtown Columbus.  The jobsite is on Front Street and is home to the first Lazarus Department Store.  The building is nearly 100 years old and is on the Ohio Historic Registry. The building sat vacant for approximately eight years until this project to renovate materialized.  After removal of the existing elevators, Turner Construction repaired the existing hoistways to accommodate ten Fujitec AC geared elevators serving eight floors.  Fujitec partnered with SFA Architects to design/build the new elevators so they would fit into the existing shafts.  The elevators were installed in two car groups and one, four car group.  This project represents the first major office building modernization in Columbus in five years.    

Hollywood & Highland and Kodak Theater (Los Angeles, CA)

The Hollywood & Highland Center is a shopping mall and entertainment complex located at Hollywood Boulevard and Highland Avenue. The center is 387,000 square feet and includes 75 shops, two nightclubs, restaurants and a movie theatre.


The center opened in 2000 and the Fujitec Los Angeles office installed and maintains 25 elevators and 33 escalators there.
