Masashi Tsuchihata

Vice President of Fujitec America, Inc. 


Mr. Tsuchihata is responsible for the business strategy and operations of Fujitec America, Inc.  He manages engineering, parts procurement and manufacturing, effective September 2012.  In addition, he is in charge of the annual development plan, quality improvement plan, commercialization plan and any coordination work with other Fujitec global companies.

Prior to his current position, Mr. Tsuchihata was Senior Manager of the Big Step escalator plant in Japan for approximately three years.  He was in charge of all over performance of production, engineering, production control, quality control department and general affairs with 150 co-workers.  He served as manager of escalator engineering from 2004 to 2010 and developed the global standard escalator “GS-NX” and conducted them to develop the escalator for energy –saving and space –saving type “Slim Fit” in 2011.

Furthermore, Mr. Tsuchihata was responsible for the renewal project of Big Step in 2007and 2010 and contributed to the renewal of the factory and the moving of escalator engineering department to Big Step to be leaner and more fit.

Right after graduation from a university, Mr. Tsuchihata started working for Fujitec and now has over 28 years of experience in the elevator and escalator industry, all of which are with Fujitec. He has been working for Fujitec most of the time in the escalator engineering field.  Prior to his assignment to the Ohio facility from 1994 to 2004, Mr. Tsuchihata helped to import smoothly escalator products from Japan to manufacture here and establish escalator engineering in America at our factory in Ohio for expanding the escalator transit business in USA by using his experience in technology, manufacturing methods and management of engineering based on his experience in the design and development section in Japan.
